| Extraordinary form of the Roman Rite |
|
The Tridentine Mass will be celebrated weekly at Holy Redeemer beginning in 2008. The intention is to begin at the first of the year, and for the Mass time to be 7:00 am.
Holy Redeemer Church
120 West Johnson Street
Madison, Wisconsin 5370
Mass in the extraordinary form of the Roman Rite (the Tridentine Mass) is being celebrated regularly at Holy Redeemer, in accord with the motu proprio Summorum Pontificum of Pope Benedict XVI.
The schedule calls for the Tridentine Mass to be offered at Holy Re-deemer each Sunday at 7:00 am.
A monthly flier is available at the back of both Holy Redeemer and St Patrick, indicating the observance each Sunday (according to the old calendar), the form of each Mass (whether it is Low Mass or which musical setting is being sung) and the celebrant.
The flier will also contain helpful information about the various parts of the Mass in the extraordinary form of the Roman Rite.

Eucharistic Adoration is prayer honoring the actual living Presence of Jesus, the second person of the Trinity. During times of solemn exposition a large consecrated host is placed in a glass holder known as a luna which is inserted into the large sacred holder called the monstrance and placed in the center of the altar. During hours of expostition of the Blessed Sacrament a constant presence is insured by individuals who commit to being prayerfully present for an hour of their choosing on a designated day.
What do I do during Eucharistic Adoration?
Offer personal prayers of adoration, thanksgiving, repentance & intercession as I pour out my heart to Jesus
Pray the Psalms from the Old Testament or pray the Liturgy of the Hours
Meditate on Scripture from the New Testament and how it relates to my life
Read lives of the saints and pray with them
Pray the Rosary
Sit quietly in God's presnces, still my thoughts and let Him speak to me
You are invited to watch and pray with Jesus, espceially during our times of Eucharistic Adoration. Consider dedicating an hour or a part of your day to this prayer practice. Peace of mind comes from having a regular prayer time built into our lives. The benefits, spiritual and other, flowing from this practice are hundred-fold as we lean in God's love and experience the joy of His Presence.

"It was generally before the tabernacle that he spent long hours in adoration, before daybreak or in the evening; it was towards the tabernacle that he often turned during his homilies, saying with emotion: "He is there!""
