Dr. Twellman lives in Michigan and teaches as part of the faculty of the Institute for Pastoral Theology (IPT). He is a passionate and knowledgeable professor who excels in wanting his students to learn more about the Bible and St. Paul. For 18 years, Dr. Twellman served as a United Methodist pastor and worked in ecumenical and social justice ministries, and in the training and supervision of lay pastoral associates. This year the Church celebrates the 40th anniversary of the controversial but prophetic document Humanae Vitae. This encyclical continues to emerge as an ever-new piece of evangelization because it speaks the truth about marriage and sexuality in an age of disillusionment. The majority of Catholics, upwards of 80% of those in the pews, follow the general cultural trend of contraception and yet this document articulates the strong teaching of the Church against contraception. Join us to learn more about the Church's teaching.
