Recently all SJV parishioners received a mailing from the Diocese of Madison regarding the Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA). This year’s theme is “Trust in the Lord with all your heart.” With direction from our Bishop Donald J. Hying, the ACA focuses on the important ministries of the Diocese of Madison that bring the corporal and spiritual works of mercy to those in need. Our own parish receives direct benefits from the ACA in a variety of ways:
The ACA goal for the Diocese is $4.2 million. Every parish is given their own goal based on parish offertory. The 2023 goal for St. John Vianney Parish is $112,072. By meeting this goal, we help assure less expense is borne by the parish through the diocesan tax assessment.
If every household in the parish that regularly donates church support would contribute to the ACA, the average gift would be $330 which can be pledged over a six-month period - $55/month. Understanding every household cannot be expected to give the same, some are able to pledge more to help with those households that must pledge less.
Please pledge or donate now (checks payable to “Diocese of Madison”) with the envelope you received in the mail, or complete your donation or pledge on Commitment Weekend when we conduct the in-pew drive on February 18-19 at each Mass. You can also donate online at www.madisondiocese.org/acagive. Thank you for your prayerful consideration of this request.
